Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in our Sacramento location. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train store associates while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving to maintain high customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed by all associates.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms and floors.
