Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Durham, NC to oversee daily store functions, support customer service, and develop the store team. The role involves merchandise organization, opening/closing duties, and adherence to corporate directives while maintaining a clean, safe, and approachable shopping environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, retail leadership experience, and the ability to lift and move merchandise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and moving merchandise.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store records and compliance.
