Job summary

Dollar Tree in Cary, North Carolina seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver strong customer service, and develop the store team. Responsibilities include assisting with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, payroll, inventory, safety and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, retail management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs; part-time

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked store and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
