Job summary

Little General Store Inc. in Alum Creek, WV seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help operate a clean, safe, and profitable retail convenience store where customers enjoy shopping and employees like working.

You will work opposite shifts, cover for the Store Manager when absent, and ensure compliance with tobacco and alcohol laws. Must be 18+, with strong English, basic computer skills, and a High School diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Possess general knowledge of the Store Manager’s role.
• Represent Little General in a professional manner with all employees, customers and vendors.
• Act as the Store Manager to perform the duties described in the Store Manager Job Description when the Store Manager is not present.
• Assist in training employees as directed by the Store Manager.
• Promote enrollment and participation in all Loyalty Programs.
• Promote and participate in company sponsored Charity Events.
• Understand and strictly follow state law laws regarding lottery, alcohol and tobacco sales.
• Provide management coverage for the store by working opposite shifts from the Store Manager as scheduled.
• Understand and be able to execute all security and emergency protocols.
• Refer questions and problems they cannot answer to the Store Manager or Retail Supervisor.
• Contact the Store Manager or Retail Supervisor in the event of an emergency.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
