Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Virginia LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in the Richmond area. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise flow, and opening/closing procedures while upholding company standards and policies.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and leadership to mentor store associates and ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; process directives.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; protect store assets.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure professional, friendly interactions with customers and staff.
