Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Virginia LLC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily functions, supervise staff, and ensure a positive shopping environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and store-management experience; you will handle merchandising, payroll records, safety procedures, and loss prevention while delivering exceptional service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help store manager supervise, train and develop associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and presentation.
