Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to strengthen store operations, customer service, and team development in our Winchester, VA location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and coordinate merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor while upholding company standards.

Responsibilities include leading opening/closing procedures, payroll/scheduling, loss prevention, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Retail/store management experience preferred (grocery/drugstore a plus).
• Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs and performing physically demanding tasks as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and functions.
• Deliver strong customer service and address questions or concerns promptly.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and follow all corporate directives.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and store cleanliness; ensure a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Support merchandise ordering, processing damaged goods, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling & deposits.
• Help train and develop store associates and supervise staff as needed.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers and team members.
• Protect company assets, including cash, and adhere to safety policies.
