Job summary

Family Dollar in Hollywood, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening and closing procedures, merchandise flow from truck to floor, and loss prevention adherence.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and train store associates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
