Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager for our Honolulu store. This role partners with the Store Manager to run daily operations, coach staff, and ensure excellent customer service and donor relations in support of our Adult Rehabilitation Program.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years in retail management, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
• Ability to operate POS/Cash Register and supervise store employees.
• Must hold a valid Driver's license and show proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in day-to-day store operations.
• Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
• Provides coaching and development to Store Employees.
• Maintains good Customer/Donor/Community relations and resolves complaints.
• Coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings in the Store Manager's absence.
• Supervises employees to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Provides training for new personnel on store policies and procedures.
• Communicates personnel issues to the District Sales Manager and coordinates disciplinary actions as needed.
• Completes tasks as assigned by Store Manager, District Sales Manager, and Command Directors.
• Manages paperwork per Review Standards, including Time and Attendance compliance.
• Ensures ARC merchandising standards and adequate inventory levels; conducts Rag Outs.
• Oversees Back Room Processing and Material Handlers for daily goals.
• Coordinates with Donation sites to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains cash handling security and banking as per policy.
• Attends Monthly Store Meetings and assists with safety measures.
• Supports loss prevention and ensures protection of property and building.
• May transfer between stores as directed and implement loss prevention measures.
