Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead our NAPA retail store in Massachusetts. This role blends automotive knowledge, customer service and operational leadership to ensure daily store functions, including counter sales, inventory, delivery coordination and housekeeping, run smoothly.

The position serves as a development path to Store Manager, with potential overtime and keyholder duties for opening/closing the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree may be preferred.
• Experience in automotive after-market service or hobby/DIY world, or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Thrive in fast-paced and complex environments.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Background/passions in automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership sectors.
• Experience in parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision, or related management roles.
• Customer-centric approach (external/internal).
• ASE certifications a plus.
• NAPA Know How.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales, inventory, labor, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting).
• Handle or support administrative tasks: scheduling, compliance, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor and act on store metrics (sales, inventory, customer satisfaction, cleanliness, labor efficiency, loss prevention).
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions; coach and support as needed.
• Support talent development and mentor successors for advancement.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
