Base pay range

$77,029.00/yr - $118,625.00/yr

Whole Foods Market is seeking Assistant Store Managers (Associate Store Team Leaders) to join our team! The Associate Store Manager supports the Store Team Leader in all aspects of store operations. Provides guidance to Team Leaders in team operations including profitability, expense control, inventory control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.

This position requires willingness to work at different stores within 35 miles or an hour commute from your home. Flexibility to work beyond the current metro is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Team Leader in store operations, including inventory, safety, merchandising, financial, and physical plant issues.
  • Maintain excellent retail execution and customer service standards.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to build a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
  • Communicate regional and store programs and standards effectively to Team Leaders and Members.
  • Regularly inspect the store to ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
  • Monitor scheduling, purchases, and expenses to keep within budget.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and see the big picture.
  • Leadership skills including motivation, team building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Desired Work Experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership role in Retail, Culinary, Hospitality, or related industries.
  • Customer service expertise.
  • Experience in team building and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of store operations, inventory, labor management, and cost control.
  • Experience with marketing, pricing, merchandising, and managing P&L.
