Job summary

Pet Supply Plus in Watertown, WI seeks a Store Manager/Director assistant to help establish superior customer service and drive profitability through merchandising, inventory control, and labor management.

You will supervise 3-4 associates, train and develop the team, enforce safety and policies, and coordinate with store leadership to meet sales goals while delivering great pet-care experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of pets and pet-related products helpful.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, Word and Excel a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive store sales by acknowledging customers and resolving needs quickly.
• Control shrink, expenses and labor.
• Maintain stock levels, adjacencies, presentations, and signing.
• Evaluate and respond to performance issues.
• Assist Store Director to train and develop associates.
• Process information and merchandise through POS system.
• Operate all store equipment needed to run the store.

SUMMARY

To assist the Pet Supply Plus Store Director in establishing and maintain superior customer service,accountability for the operation of the store insuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, inventory, expense control, Human Resources Management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer projects needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
• Controls shrink, expenses and labor.
• Ensures appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations; signing and assortment in all departments; ensures selling floor is adequately stocked.
• Evaluates and reacts to performance issues.
• Assists Store Director to train and develop store team.
• Processes information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
• Operates and uses all equipment necessary to run the store.
• Works various hours/days to oversee store operations.
• Ensures compliance with all laws, policies and procedures.
• Follows all PSP programs/promotions
• Assists with general care of animals
• Acts as Niemann Foods representative within the store and community
• Enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
