Job summary

Niemann Foods, Inc. is seeking a Store Leader to assist the Store Director in delivering superior customer service and profitable operations. You will oversee merchandising, inventory, expenses, and human resources functions to maximize sales and shrink-control efficiency.

You will supervise 3–4 associates, train staff, and ensure compliance with policies while representing Niemann Foods in the community and within the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of pets and pet-related products.
• 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of retail computer systems; Word and Excel a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drives store sales by ensuring customers are acknowledged and needs are met.
• Controls shrink, expenses and labor.
• Maintains appropriate stock levels and presentations across departments.
• Trains and develops store associates; supervises 3–4 staff.

SUMMARY

To assist the Pet Supply Plus Store Director in establishing and maintain superior customer service, accountability for the operation of the store insuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, inventory, expense control, Human Resources Management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer projects needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
• Controls shrink, expenses and labor.
• Ensures appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations; signing and assortment in all departments; ensures selling floor is adequately stocked.
• Evaluates and reacts to performance issues.
• Assists Store Director to train and develop store team.
• Processes information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
• Operates and uses all equipment necessary to run the store.
• Works various hours/days to oversee store operations.
• Ensures compliance with all laws, policies and procedures.
• Follows all PSP programs/promotions
• Assists with general care of animals
• Acts as Niemann Foods representative within the store and community
• Enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages 3-4 Associates in the store.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Possess product knowledge of pets and pet related products
• 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, Word and Excel a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Present information and respond to questions from groups of customers or associates

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and sales per associate hour)

• Some locations may require Power Industrial Truck Certification
