General Summary

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. Your key responsibilities include assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations, maintaining inventories, ensuring the store's appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers positively, answering questions, and resolving inquiries.
• Maintaining a clean, well-stocked store environment.
• Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates under the Store Manager's guidance.
• Assisting with unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
• Supporting in ordering merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supporting loss prevention efforts.
• Assuming management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
• Preferred experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and to perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.
• Flexible, full-time availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
