Job summary

Oscar Stone in Bronx, NY, seeks an experienced Assistant Store Manager for our jewelry retail team. You will help run daily operations, supervise sales associates, and ensure outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of retail management experience, jewelry experience preferred, and a proven ability to lead a team, meet sales goals, and maintain inventory and security standards. Weekend availability required.

Assistant Store Manager – Jewelry Retail

Oscar Stone is looking for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our growing jewelry retail team.

We are looking for a proven retail leader who understands how to manage people, drive sales, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain strong operational standards.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in retail required.
• Jewelry industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with several years of hands-on experience working in a jewelry store, luxury retail, pawn/jewelry environment, or specialty retail are encouraged to apply.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and holding sales employees accountable is required.
• Candidates must have a demonstrated understanding of retail sales, customer service, inventory, and daily store operations.
• This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for someone who has already demonstrated the ability to lead a retail team.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with the daily operation of the jewelry store.
• Lead, coach, and motivate sales associates to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Monitor employee performance and provide direction and feedback.
• Lead by example in sales, customer service, professionalism, and company standards.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies and operational procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, merchandise organization, transfers, and inventory controls.
• Help maintain proper security procedures for high-value jewelry and merchandise.
• Monitor customer interactions and ensure a high level of customer service.
• Assist customers with jewelry purchases and provide knowledgeable product guidance.
• Help resolve customer concerns and elevate matters to the Store Manager when necessary.
• Assist with employee scheduling and daily staffing coverage.
• Communicate store needs, employee concerns, sales activity, and operational issues to management.
• Ensure the sales floor remains organized, professional, and properly presented.
• Help enforce attendance, dress code, customer service, and workplace expectations.
• Step in and oversee store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail management or supervisory experience required.
• Jewelry retail experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of retail sales and customer service.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach employees and hold team members accountable.
• Experience working with sales goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with high-value merchandise and follow strict security and inventory procedures.
• Professional appearance and communication.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work weekends and retail holidays as needed.
