Position Purpose

Assistant Store Managers in Training are learning the various responsibilities and functions of the following roles: Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They will learn how to support the Store Manager in developing strategies and objectives to drive store sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with their Associates.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising customer service initiatives, including supervising associates in selling, ensuring the store's in-stock position, and maintaining an appealing store appearance. They will learn staffing, scheduling, resolving stock deficiencies, supervising selling behaviors, resolving customer issues, and supporting service needs.
• Supervising store associates, including interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, training, developing, and communicating. They will learn the performance management process and disciplinary procedures.
• Operations management, including supervision of front-end processes, back-end processes such as receiving and stocking, maintaining equipment, and managing daily financial operations, with a focus on safety compliance.
• Business analysis and merchandise planning, including analyzing sales trends, working with partners on merchandise placement, signing, and inventory management.

Reporting and Travel

• Reports to a Store Manager. Upon completing training, will supervise associates' work activities.
• Typically requires less than 10% overnight travel.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Mostly sitting with occasional movement; lifting light articles may be required.
• Indoor, comfortable environment; infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18+, legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of work experience.
