Job summary

Buche Foods in Mobridge, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager and lead daily store operations, coach team members, and uphold merchandising and safety standards.

You'll focus on hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and delivering exceptional customer service while fostering a positive, high-performing work environment aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three years of progressive retail experience.
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Grocery retail experience preferred.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve department and store goals.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Communicate company initiatives, expectations, and operational goals.
• Lead daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while demonstrating core values.
• Assist with inventory management, product ordering, and merchandising.
• Maintain proper stock levels, signage, and attractive product displays.
• Monitor payroll, inventory, and operational performance.
• Help ensure policies, cash handling procedures, and inventory controls are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
• Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and lead by example.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Promote a positive shopping experience throughout the store.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
• Identify and correct safety hazards.
• Help maintain store equipment and operational readiness.

In this role, you'll partner with the Store Manager to oversee store operations, coach and develop team members, maintain merchandising and operational standards, and help ensure the store runs efficiently every day. What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three years of progressive retail experience.
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Grocery retail experience preferred.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
