Job summary

GF Buche Co. is hiring a dependable Prep Cook for Al’s Oasis in Oacoma, SD. You’ll help prepare ingredients, assist with baking, and keep the kitchen stocked and organized to support line cooks.

You’ll follow recipes, measure ingredients, maintain cleanliness, and follow food safety standards. Reliable transportation and availability on weekends/holidays preferred; benefits vary with full-time or part-time status.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Baking experience or skills strongly preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and food items according to established recipes.
• Wash, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients for daily service.
• Assist with baking and preparing desserts, breads, and other menu items as needed.
• Prepare sauces, dressings, and other items ahead of service.
• Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality.
• Keep prep stations stocked, clean, and organized.
• Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food products.
• Monitor ingredient and supply levels and communicate needs to management.
• Help ensure ingredients and prepared items are ready for the line cooks.
• Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed.
