Description

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all store operations, including managing employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing sales. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to improve store performance and profitability while maintaining a positive environment for customers and staff. It is a developmental role aimed at those aspiring to become Retail Store Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and retaining store employees.
  • Assist in managing and developing store employees for optimal performance.
  • Develop team selling skills and educate the team about products.
  • Ensure smooth store operations, including inventory management, expense monitoring, promotional activities, and scheduling.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handle inquiries and complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Gain product knowledge and stay updated on product launches and promotions.
  • Build relationships with customers to suggest products.
  • Meet or exceed sales and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and staff to meet operational and financial targets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment, enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Store Manager on various operational aspects.
  • Manage daily store operations, including inventory, cash handling, staffing, and cleanliness.
  • Spend most of the business hours on the sales floor engaging with customers and staff.
  • Work full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
