The Assistant Store Manager is the second in command and is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store, including training, directing, and monitoring all department staff.

Salary: USD $62,000.00/Yr.

Overview

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store management, ensuring excellent customer service, staff training, and operational efficiency. Applications are accepted until 05/22/2025, with potential updates if the hiring timeline extends.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet and serve customers according to company standards.
  2. Provide professional leadership and ensure staff accountability.
  3. Handle customer complaints appropriately.
  4. Maintain an inviting, shoppable store with in-stock products.
  5. Manage special orders, phone standards, and assist customers on the sales floor.
  6. Train staff on customer service and ensure compliance with food safety certifications.
  7. Achieve store and department sales targets, monitor product mix, and manage inventory.
  8. Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance.
  9. Ensure safety guidelines are followed and store paperwork is completed timely.
  10. Support store operations, including opening/closing, reporting, and handling disruptions.
  11. Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, approximately 45 hours per week.
  12. Lead by example, setting standards of excellence and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years management experience in grocery/retail; natural foods industry a plus.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; cashier trained.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
