Job summary

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is opening a brand-new South Broadway store in Englewood, CO, and seeks an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager, build an exceptional team, and establish culture and standards from day one.

This hands-on leadership role will coach, connect with guests, and manage operations while helping to launch a high-energy store that delivers an outstanding guest experience. Training occurs at the Belmar location in Lakewood before opening.

• Prior supervisory or management experience in food service or hospitality.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Ability to train and develop new staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop the store team alongside the Store Manager.
• Support onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of team members.

• Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, hospitality, and the brand spirit.
• Step into Store Manager duties when the manager is unavailable.

Peaks To Waves LLC is growing, and we're excited to bring bold Hawaiian brews, island vibes, and a whole lot of Bad Ass energy to our brand-new South Broadway location in Englewood!

Our South Broadway shop is targeting an October 7th opening, and we're building our opening leadership team now. We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager who can partner closely with the Store Manager, develop an incredible team, and help establish the culture and operational standards of our newest location from day one.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll coach, problem-solve, make drinks, connect with guests, and jump in wherever needed to keep the store running at its best.

New Store Opening & Training

Because we want our opening leadership team ready to hit the ground running, training will take place prior to the South Broadway opening at our existing Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Belmar location in Lakewood.

Applicants should be available to complete required training at the Belmar location ahead of the anticipated October 7th opening. Once South Broadway opens, your regular work location will transition to the new South Broadway shop.

Please note: October 7th is our target opening date and may be adjusted based on final construction, permitting, and opening requirements.

• Previous supervisory or management experience in coffee, food service, retail, or hospitality strongly preferred

What You’ll Do

• Partner with the Store Manager to lead, motivate, and develop the store team
• Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of Baristas and Shift Leads
• Provide real-time feedback and coaching to reinforce performance expectations and recognize great work
• Help create a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
• Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, hospitality, and the Bad Ass Coffee Aloha spirit
• Step into the Store Manager role when the Store Manager is unavailable

Store Operations

• Help oversee day-to-day store operations and ensure shifts run smoothly and efficiently
• Maintain high standards for beverage quality, food preparation, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest experience
• Ensure recipes, procedures, food safety requirements, and brand standards are consistently followed
• Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and other daily operational responsibilities
• Identify operational issues and work with the Store Manager to develop solutions
• Help ensure the store is properly stocked, organized, and prepared for each day

Inventory & Business Support

• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, receiving, product rotation, and minimizing waste
• Help monitor product availability and communicate ordering or inventory needs
• Support labor management and shift coverage needs
• Assist the Store Manager in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sales, and overall store performance
• Help execute local promotions, new product launches, community events, and company initiatives

Guest Experience

• Create genuine connections with guests and help build a loyal South Broadway customer base
• Model exceptional hospitality and coach the team to do the same
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and confidently
• Be present on the floor and ready to jump in wherever needed, including making drinks, preparing food, working the register, cleaning, stocking, or supporting the team through a rush

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, move, and work on your feet for 6-8 hours per shift
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs regularly
• Perform repetitive motions with hands and arms, including scooping, tamping, pouring, and preparing beverages
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods
