The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing all aspects of store operations to drive sales, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and lead a high-performing team. This role assists in managing sales performance, staffing, merchandising, inventory coordination, and operational standards while ensuring the store reflects the brand and meets financial goals. The Assistant Store Manager partners closely with warehouse, delivery, and corporate teams to ensure smooth end-to-end execution.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or related field preferred
1–3 years of retail management experience, preferably in furniture, home goods, or specialty retail
Proven experience leading teams and achieving sales and operational goals
Strong sales leadership with the ability to coach and motivate a customer-focused team
Experience analyzing sales metrics, KPIs, and financial reports to drive performance
Ability to set goals, manage performance, and provide constructive feedback
Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising standards
Experience with POS systems, CRM tools, and retail management software
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated commitment to delivering a high-quality customer experience
Ability to handle customer concerns and escalations with professionalism and empathy
Understanding of consultative selling, especially for higher-ticket items like furniture
Ability to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the showroom and stock areas as needed
