Position Purpose:

Assistant Store Managers in Training are learning the various responsibilities and functions of the following roles: Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They will learn how to support the Store Manager in developing strategies and objectives to drive store sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with associates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service: Supervising associates in selling efforts, ensuring stock availability, and maintaining an appealing store appearance. Supporting staffing, stock management, customer issue resolution, and service needs.
2. Supervising Store Associates: Involves interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, training, developing, and communicating. Learning the performance management process and disciplinary procedures.
3. Operations Management: Supervision of front-end processes, back-end receiving, freight, and equipment maintenance, as well as managing daily financial operations and safety compliance.
4. Business Analysis and Merchandise Planning: Driving profitability through sales trend analysis, working with partners on merchandise placement, signing, and inventory management.

Reporting and Travel:

• Reports to a Store Manager. Gradually assumes supervision of associates post-training.
• Typically requires less than 10% overnight travel.

Physical and Working Conditions:

• Primarily sitting with occasional movement. Rarely may need to lift light articles.
• Indoor, comfortable environment with infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older, legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of work experience.

Additional Qualifications:

• No specific leadership or certifications required.
