Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking an Assistant Store Team Leader to partner with the Store Team Leader in running daily store operations, developing team leaders, and driving performance. You will recruit, coach, and support staff while ensuring strong customer service and adherence to standards.

The role requires 2+ years of retail leadership, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Retail leadership experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to coach, develop and hold leaders and team members accountable.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, lift up to 50 pounds and adapt to a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Team Leader in day-to-day leadership and operation of the store.
• Provide leadership and direction to Department Managers, Shift Supervisors, and team members.
• Coach and develop store leaders and team members while reinforcing accountability and performance expectations.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and staffing.
• Help create a positive work environment that promotes engagement, accountability, development, and retention.
• Review store performance and identify opportunities to improve sales and operations.
• Ensure merchandising, inventory care, safety, and store conditions meet standards.
