Assistant Store Leader (Finance)
Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
- Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval
Desired qualifications:
- Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations
- Staff supervisory experience
Responsibilities include:
- Assist store manager & associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience & develop associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance Kroger's reputation
- Lead teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives
- Develop action plans/communications based on Associate Insight survey results
- Identify store opportunities, develop solutions & create action plans for implementation
- Model and demand high levels of customer service & resolve issues
- Manage total store operations in store manager’s absence
- Achieve/exceed sales, wage, profit budgets & other goals (e.g., safety, shrink)
- Drive sales and profits, reduce shrink, improve departmental contributions
- Discuss financial performance with staff and develop budgets
- Analyze competitive landscape and respond accordingly
- Demonstrate inclusive leadership and promote diversity
- Coordinate with field staff to achieve sales & merchandising goals
- Build relationships with community organizations and union representatives if applicable
- Communicate effectively with staff to carry out duties
- Serve as liaison on division merchandising and operational plans
- Assist in staffing, reducing turnover & increasing retention
- Provide performance feedback and manage labor & supply costs
- Ensure compliance with laws and policies
- Supervise and coach staff, conduct performance reviews
