Job summary

FAIRVALUE is seeking an Assistant Store Director to support all store operations, reporting to the Store Director. You will help manage cash, inventory, and customer service while ensuring perishable rotations across departments meet quality standards.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work under high pressure. At least 3 years in retail grocery and a high school diploma are preferred. 45 hours weekly.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Store Director is responsible for assisting the Store Director in all phases of store operations including enforcement of all policies and standards of FAIRVALUE. Assists the Store Director with cash and inventory control as well as maintaining FAIRVALUE's high standards of customer service. Is responsible for rotation of all perishable product in the grocery, dairy, frozen food and HBC departments. Responsible for the entire store in the Store Director's absence. Has direct authority over all store associates in the Store Director's absence. Reports to the Store Director.

SCHEDULE:

45 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Education

• High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
• Knowledge of DSD/Scanning Operations
• Knowledge of front end operations

Experience

• Three plus years’ retail grocery experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
• Skills in areas of leadership, management, coaching, teaching, and motivating employees.
• Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
• Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
