Albertsons Companies is seeking a Grocery Department Leader to drive day-to-day operations, deliver strong customer service, and manage merchandising across Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Beer/Liquor. You will lead a team, analyze sales performance, and partner with store leadership to meet financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department, including Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Beer/Liquor, to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service objectives.
• Support store operations and provide leadership to department managers and associates in the absence of the Store Director.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, rotated, merchandised, and maintained in quality and safety standards.
• Monitor inventory, manage product ordering, control shrink, and oversee counts and reclamation.
• Lead, coach, train, schedule, and develop department associates for excellent customer service and performance.
• Recruiting, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning while fostering a positive work environment.
• Analyze sales, labor, and financial metrics and implement plans to improve productivity and profitability.
• Resolve customer concerns and maintain vendor relationships to promote exceptional service.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, train, schedule, and develop department associates to ensure excellent customer service and operational performance.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning while fostering a positive work environment
• Analyze sales, labor, and financial performance metrics, and implement plans to improve productivity, sales growth, and profitability.
• Resolve customer concerns, maintain positive vendor relationships, and promote a culture of exceptional customer service throughout the store.

Educational requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and extensive retail management experience will be considered.

Other requirements:

• Extensive retail management experience, preferably in grocery or food retail operations.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and refrigerated/freezer areas.
• Commitment to maintaining company standards for safety, grooming, dress code, and workplace conduct.
