Job Responsibilities
  1. Provides direction related to operations, processes, and conditions of the store.
  2. Plans, directs, and supervises the team in the day-to-day operation of the store.
  3. Responsible for the selection, training, development, and performance management of all team members in span of care.
  4. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability.
  5. Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved effectively and efficiently, and service is quick and efficient.
  6. Ensures effective merchandising of products and displays to maximize sales and profitability.
  7. Forecasts staffing needs and develops recruiting strategies to provide optimal staffing in all areas.
  8. Works in a manner that reflects the Meijer brand and values.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Assists the Store Director in running overall store operations as needed.
  2. Leads performance management activities for leaders and team members.
  3. Attracts, selects, and retains a team supporting Meijer's culture, including valuing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  4. Communicates regularly with the team, sharing performance, customer feedback, and recognition.
  5. Ensures compliance with food safety standards and company merchandising plans.
  6. Engages with the community to support the Meijer brand.
  7. Delivers on key performance metrics such as sales, shrink, labor, margin, customer satisfaction, and safety.
  8. Implements new initiatives and remains informed about industry trends.
  9. Maintains current knowledge of competitive trends and strengths.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 5+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experience.
  3. 4+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  4. Passion for leading teams and providing excellent service.
  5. Creative and proactive thinking skills.
  6. Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising.
  7. Strong business acumen.
  8. Innovative attitude to set industry standards.
  9. Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
