Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee invites applications for a part-time, twelve-month position to assist the Head Softball Coach with organizing and coaching the team and engaging students and community.

The role supports practices and games, coordinates transportation, fundraising, and youth camp activities, while promoting academic success and compliance with NJCAA/TCCAA.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required.
• One year of coaching experience at the college level required.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s with 18 graduate semester hours preferred. Community college/NJCAA experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assists with supervision of practices and games.
• Provides instruction to student-athletes as directed by the head softball coach.
• Encourages academic success and monitors study hall attendance.
• Assist with transporting athletic teams to games and tournaments.
• Assist with supervision of team activities.
• Assists with equipment inventory and maintenance.
• Assists with field maintenance and preparation.
• Coordinating fundraising activities following state and DSCC policies.
• Participates in the annual athletic awards program.
• Assist with student-athlete recruitment and retention under the head coach.
• Plan and execute a yearly youth softball camp fundraiser; coordinate promotion with Public Relations.
• Serve as a game day administrator for athletic events when requested.
• Oversee concessions at events.
• Assist with local shuttle of DSCC students to classes and activities.
