Job summary

Tufts University Athletics seeks a Head Coach for Softball to oversee all NCAA Division III program operations, from recruiting qualified student-athletes to budgeting and fundraising. You will lead the coaching staff, organize practices, and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies.

You will build a competitive schedule, engage alumni, and promote Tufts’ mission while mentoring athletes academically and socially in a demanding academic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 5–7 years collegiate coaching experience preferred.
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of a comprehensive NCAA Division III varsity softball program providing a transformational student-athlete experience, which complements the Tufts University mission.
• Educate and effectively coach student-athletes.
• Identify, evaluate and successfully recruit highly-selective student-athletes within the framework and guidelines of University and conference policies and procedures.
• Supervise and direct assistant coach(es), ensuring adherence to all association, conference and university rules by student-athletes and support staff.
• Conduct team and program fund-raising and external/alumni relations as needed.
• Complete secondary department duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
