Job summary

Bucks County Community College is seeking an Assistant Coach, Softball for a part-time seasonal role. You will assist the head coach in executing the program's philosophy, coordinating practices, and guiding student-athletes on and off the field.

You will handle travel logistics, recruit qualified students, monitor academics, maintain equipment, and help with fundraising. This position emphasizes inclusivity, teamwork, and representing the college with integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching intercollegiate or high school athletics.
• Knowledge and experience coaching Softball.
• Knowledge of NCAA, USCAA, or NJCAA rules and compliance.
• CPR certification, First Aid (Recommended)
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Support head coach in executing coaching philosophy and softball instruction.
• Drive college or rental van for away competitions as needed.
• Recruit qualified student-athletes.
• Assist with game prep and home/away procedures.
• Track and inventory equipment and uniforms; report deficiencies.
• Support student-athletes' academic progress and retention initiatives.
• Assist with fundraising to meet team financial goals.
• Display commitment to equality in player development and training.
• Prepare team for competition and student experience.
• Coordinate collection of team statistics for each game.
• Ensure compliance with College, USCAA, NCAA rules and regulations.

Assistant Coach, Softball

Part-time (Seasonal)

The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in executing the organization, administration and coaching of the Softball program.

Primary Duties

• Support and assist the head coach to execute a clearly defined philosophy ofcoaching and teaching Softball.
• Drive College or rental van for away competitions as needed.
• Recruit sufficient qualified student-athletes.
• Assist head coach with game preparation, home and away competitionprocedures.
• Tracks and inventories equipment, uniforms, and reports deficiencies.
• Assist with student-athletes' academic progress and provide support.
• Support and assist with retention initiatives in conjunction with the Director,Student Life and Athletic Program, including enforcing academic support planand supporting both the Completion and Student Success Agenda of the College.
• Assist with fundraising activities, to meet teams' financial goals.
• Display a commitment to equality in player development and training.
• Assist preparing team for competition.
• Assist in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging student experience.
• Coordinate the collection of team statistics for each game.
• Comply with College, USCAA, NCAA rules and regulations and all other aspectsof directing a quality intercollegiate Women's Softball program.
• Act as a mandatory reporter for student issues and concerns and potential Title IX and College Code of Conduct violations.
• Coach as a professional, mentor, and excellent representative of the values of Bucks County Community College.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in coaching intercollegiate or high school athletics.
• Knowledge and experience coaching Softball.
• Knowledge of NCAA, USCAA, or NJCAA rules and compliance.
• CPR certification, First Aid (Recommended)
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

Background Checks/Clearances

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all required background checks and clearances. These include, but are not limited to, a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check and verification of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. Therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete a motor vehicle records check in addition to standard background screening requirements.

Season Salary $4,000
