Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA seeks an Assistant Site Supervisor to help plan, supervise, and implement Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp, and School Break Care programs in line with California licensing and Expanded Learning guidelines.

You will supervise up to 14 children independently (20 with Expanded Learning Opportunities) and support staff, ensuring safe, engaging activities, healthy eating, and physical activity standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • 1 year of experience working in a childcare setting.
  • California Community Care Licensing requirements for 12 units of Child Development and 3 units in Administration, or Cal-Ed Expanded Learning Programs 48 units or an Associate’s Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs (Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp, School Break Care).
  • Supervise up to 14 children independently (20 with ELO/expanded program) under licensing guidelines.
  • Provide a safe environment, guide behaviors, and deliver HEPA-compliant activities.
  • Assist in staff training, enrollment and attendance procedures, and program setup/cleanup.
