Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA’s Stuart C Gildred Family YMCA in Santa Ynez, CA seeks a Site Supervisor to plan, supervise, and implement childcare programs (Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp) in compliance with California licensing and Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs. You’ll supervise up to 14–20 children, support staff, and uphold HEPA standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years’ experience in a childcare setting.
• Certifications completed within 60 days of hire.
• Branch and position trainings completed within two weeks of hire.
• Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance.
• Valid California driver’s license and driving record.
• Health screening and TB test prior to first day.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs.
• Supervise children according to California licensing guidelines.
• Provide safe, engaging activities and HEPA-compliant practices.
• Assist Program Director with planning, training, and staff evaluations.
• Maintain relationships with school administration and enrollment targets.

A waiver may be submitted to allow for the Administration course to be completed in the first year of employment (or approved Community Care Licensing alternative)California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs* Must possess 48 college units; or* Associate’s Degree; or* Pass a District-selected assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
