This role emphasizes mentorship, coordination, and collaborative teamwork. The position requires at least a High School Diploma and 1 year in expanded learning or youth development, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; paraprofessional requirements vary by district.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in expanded learning or youth development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools.
• Flexible, team oriented, child focused, and open to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Site Coordinator in supervising and coaching instructor staff and volunteers.
• Provides on-the-floor leadership, modeling best practices in student engagement and classroom management.
• Supports staff scheduling, timekeeping, and substitute coverage as needed.
• Facilitates staff check-ins and small group meetings with the Site Coordinator.
• Leads program activities including academic support, enrichment, and recreation.
• Maintains accurate attendance records and daily logs.
• Assists in lesson planning and curriculum organization.
• Tracks supplies and assists with inventory and basic purchasing under direction.
• Maintains compliance documentation related to staff, students, and site safety.
• Acts as primary contact when the Site Coordinator is absent and communicates with stakeholders.
• Provides updates on student behavior, staff performance, and program operations.
• Supports family engagement events and partnerships at the site.
• Ensures staff adhere to supervision, safety, and ratio policies.
• Aligns with district and state regulations for expanded learning programs.
• Participates in professional development and certifications as required.
• Supports positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
