Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk in Colorado is seeking a Poker Assistant Shift Manager to lead a gaming shift, oversee staff, and ensure top-notch guest service. This full-time role centers on protecting assets, managing promotions, and delivering an exceptional guest experience in a luxury resort setting.

The position requires dealing experience, supervisory aptitude, legal licensing, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License.
• 1 year of dealing experience preferred.
• Previous supervisor experience a plus.
• Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and other departments.
• Must possess excellent guest service and communication skills with the ability to deal with guests.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to speak and write English.
• Ability to read and understand information and instructions presented in writing.
• Strong general mathematical skills.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must have the ability to stand for duration of shift.
• Must be able to bend, stoop and continuously use hands.

Responsibilities

• Protect company assets and maintain security over assets and cash.
• Maintain an accurate bank and ensure all assets are guarded and protected.
• Manage, direct, and supervise all personnel on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Evaluate business levels and maintain appropriate staffing while maximizing labor and minimizing payroll expense.
• Fulfill guest service needs, including host, cashier, verification, and payment of jackpots and bonus hands.
• Maintain accurate records for all daily promotions.
• Generate player cards, comp slips, and ensure accurate player tracking.
• Take and place food orders with follow-up to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
• Monitor service standards of food and beverage to meet guest expectations.
• Maintain payroll records, protect and control department keys and assets.
• Comply with Colorado gaming laws and internal controls; meet regulatory requirements.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

• Monitor service standards of food and beverage personnel to ensure the established guest service standards are met by those departments.
• Maintain payroll records, protect and control all department keys and assets.
• Other related duties including but not limited to complying with and understanding the following: Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Colorado Gaming Rules and Regulations, Colorado Internal Control Minimum Procedures. Colorado Liquor and Beer Codes, Federal requirements for Anti-Money Laundering, Company policies and IRS reporting.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
