Job summary

Haug Implement Co. seeks an Assistant Service Manager to greet customers, quote repairs, and coordinate work with technicians. The role includes scheduling, updating clients on status and costs, and supporting the Service Manager in daily operations.

The candidate should have some experience in shop supervision, mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, and a valid driver’s license. CDL is a plus, and a technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience or technical college degree or certification preferred.
• Experience managing technicians in a shop setting.
• Experience with repair, service, and maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.
• Cdl preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the counter and take calls, determining work needed.
• Quote service work and repairs and update customers on status and costs.
• Schedule pickups/deliveries and assign repair jobs to technicians.
• Coordinate with sales to manage internal work orders and equipment setup.
• Supervise technicians for accurate work orders and documentation.

ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER

Willmar

Responsibilities

• Meets and greets customers at the counter and takes customer phone calls
• Asks questions to determine work needed and to prospect for additional work on the machine
• Records and clearly relays details and information to Service Manager and technicians
• Quotes service work and repairs
• Contacts and updates customers with ongoing repair status and cost estimates
• Schedules pickups and deliveries
• Assigns diagnostic and repair jobs on customer equipment according to technician skills and knowledge
• Assigns, schedules, and tracks re-conditioning of used equipment
• Works with the Sales Department to manage internal work orders
• Assigns, schedules, and tracks set-up of new equipment
• Tracks and schedules PIPS
• Improves technician efficiencies by keeping them on task and coaching
• Provides diagnostic assistance for technicians
• Assists technicians in looking up parts and pre-orders parts for upcoming jobs
• Supervises technicians for complete and thorough work order documentation on diagnostics and repairs performed, parts used, and time worked
• Helps retrieve and stage equipment for service or repairs
• Schedules trucks for DOT inspections, maintains permits, manages individual truck binders, and maintains vehicle inspection logs in each truck
• Covers for Service Manager as needed
• Maintains shop cleanliness and ensures technicians keep work areas tidy
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Keeps shop tools organized
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Experience & Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience or technical college degree or certification preferred
• Experience managing technicians in a shop setting
• Experience with repair, service, and maintenance
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Experience with basic computer functions
• Experience using Service Center or other computer based diagnostic tools preferred
• Able to lift, bend, and carry
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
• CDL preferred

Haug Implement Co. provides an estimated base pay range. The actual starting pay offer will account for our overall wage and benefit package, applicant experience, training, skill, and internal equity among our existing employees. This is a salariedposition with a potential hiring offer range of $65,000-80,000 annually, based on factors listed above.
