Purpose of Position:

The Assistant Service Manager assists the Service Manager in managing the service department, warranty department, express service area, and warranty administration.

Qualifications for Position:

  • Customer contact experience required
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate, evaluate, and direct staff
  • Ability to accept change and take on special tasks as needed
  • Ability to fill in and write service when an advisor is missing
  • Dependability
  • Complete tasks on schedule

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee coding on repair orders for warranty
  • Responsible for invoicing repair orders
  • Direct and train warranty staff
  • Work cooperatively with all departments and personnel
  • Maintain professional personal appearance
  • Outgoing and patient personality with good customer relations ability
  • Achieve high customer retention by exceeding owner expectations
  • Assist service manager and advisors in maintaining customer relationships using communication systems
  • Help achieve high customer satisfaction scores
  • Upgrade knowledge of Ford products and services through training
  • Support vehicle sales operations by meeting service needs efficiently
  • Ensure proper handling of all service transactions through training and monitoring
  • Process weekly payroll for technicians when the Service Manager is unavailable
  • Maintain supply and support systems, including technical materials and workshop supplies
  • Ensure speed and accuracy of transactions by controlling administrative activities
  • Train, motivate, evaluate, develop, and direct warranty and cashier staff
  • Work with the Service Manager to determine staffing levels
  • Assist in maintaining morale, low turnover, and high promotion rates by being responsive and developing employee skills
  • Resolve problems or complaints promptly and reward performance
