Job summary

Garavel Auto Group in Norwalk, CT is seeking an Assistant Service Advisor to help the Service Department run smoothly. You will support Service Advisors with daily tasks, improve customer handling, and step in when needed to maintain repair-order flow.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, clear communication, and teamwork with technicians. You will handle front-desk duties, explain repairs in simple terms, and ensure timely follow-up with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience working at an auto dealership or auto repair is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex automotive repairs to customers in a manner that makes sense.
• Good time management skills and multitasking ability.
• Ability to work well with Service Technicians.
• Maintains a professional appearance and Garavel uniform worn.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving history.
• Regular Attendance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly.
• Direct customers to the proper Service Advisor.
• Coordinate loan car paperwork
• Review the pre-written repair orders
• Perform customer service follow-up calls
• Notify the Service Manager immediately of any unsatisfied customers, so that the matter can be addressed immediately.
• Fill in for the Service Advisor’s when they are not on the job (lunches, illness, vacations, etc.).
• Any additional duties assigned by management.
• Lot porter duties when one is unavailable, including parking cars and retrieving cars for customers.
• Service Advisors duties when one is unavailable, including administrative duties, printing the next day’s pre-writes, attaching warranty inquiries, calling extended contract companies’ approvals, writing internal repair orders, processing PDI’s, etc
