Job summary

Children of America in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an Assistant School Director to move beyond the classroom into a true leadership role. You will work with the School Director and regional leadership to grow a high-performing program and prepare for School Director opportunities.

This role offers a base salary of $50,000–$60,000 with variable incentives, a 100% employee childcare discount, and a path for career advancement within COA.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of leadership experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare/early childhood setting
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as required by the state
• Meets all applicable state licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of passionate early childhood educators
• Partner with the School Director on day‑to‑day school operations
• Help drive enrollment, team performance, and school success
• Build meaningful relationships with families, teachers, and leadership
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, scheduling, and staff development

Compensation & Incentives
