Job summary

Norma Kamali Inc. in New York is seeking a dedicated Sample Development Assistant to support the sample development process, from pulling materials to preparing garments for fittings and reviews.

You will work on-site with the design and development teams to keep samples, patterns, and tracking records organized and up to date, ensuring timely reviews and smooth development flow.

Responsibilities

• Pull the patterns, reference garments, fabrics, trims, and other materials needed for samplemaking, fittings, and development reviews
• Request and track samples from the warehouse, maintain accurate records of their location, and coordinate their return each week
• Prepare samples for fittings and development reviews in the sample room or Norma's office — dress mannequins, present garments for review, take photographs, record comments and corrections, and update development records
• Monitor office supply inventory and place orders through approved vendors as needed
• Maintain development tracking logs and follow up on outstanding patterns, corrections, and samples to support deadlines and scheduled reviews
• Support the ongoing organization of the physical and digital pattern archive by maintaining accurate labels, style information, version records, and digitization status
