Scheduled Days and Hours

Days: Saturday, Sunday, and observed USPS holidays. During onboarding, ARCs must be available for training on weekdays. Hours vary. Driving is required; applicants should have a valid U.S. driver's license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised driving experience in passenger cars or larger vehicles. A personal vehicle may be required.

Salary and Functional Purpose

Salary: $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly. The role involves delivering packages on Sundays and holidays, and possibly on Saturdays, using a prescribed rural route.

Responsibilities

1. Load packages in delivery sequence in the vehicle.
2. Deliver packages to customers along a prescribed route.
3. Sort mail in delivery sequence for the route.
4. Handle accountable mail, receiving and signing for it.
5. Load mail and packages into the vehicle.
6. Deliver mail and packages, collect monies and receipts, and pick up mail roadside boxes.
7. Provide routine postal information to customers.
8. Return undeliverable mail and submit monies and receipts to the post office.
9. Prepare time records and ensure mail security at all times.

Additional Information

ARCs are non-career employees providing delivery and collection services along rural routes. Candidates should live near the facility and may need to provide a suitable vehicle, receiving an Equipment Maintenance Allowance if so. Work is outdoors in all weather, and carriers may need to handle items weighing up to 70 pounds.
