Job Details
  • Scheduled Days: Saturday, Sunday, and observed USPS holidays. Training on weekdays during onboarding.
  • Hours: Varies
  • Driving Required: Valid state driver's license, safe driving record, at least two years of unsupervised driving experience in passenger cars or larger, in the U.S. or U.S. military installations worldwide. Personal vehicle may be required.
  • Salary Range: $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly
Functional Purpose

Deliver packages along rural routes, including Sundays and holidays, using a vehicle. May also case, deliver, and collect mail and packages on Saturdays.

Responsibilities
  1. Load packages in delivery sequence.
  2. Deliver packages to customers along prescribed routes.
  3. Sort mail in delivery sequence.
  4. Handle accountable mail, including receiving and signing for it.
  5. Collect monies and receipts for accountable mail, and pick up mail from roadside boxes.
  6. Provide routine postal information to customers.
  7. Return undeliverable mail and submit monies and receipts to the post office.
  8. Prepare time records and ensure mail security.
  9. May need to provide a vehicle for delivery if not provided by the employer.
  10. Work outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions, handling items weighing up to 70 pounds.
Additional Information

ARCs are non-career employees providing rural route services, including delivery and collection of mail. Candidates should live within easy commuting distance of the facility. An Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is provided if using a personal vehicle.
