Job summary

Pebble Beach Company is seeking a professional Server for The Lodge at Pebble Beach. You will provide prompt, courteous service for beverages and food, interact with guests, and work with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, pouring wine, and maintaining a clean work area while supporting special events and buffets. Requires Food Safety and RBS certifications and the ability to work under high-pressure conditions.

Qualifications

• Must hold Food Safety certification and RBS certification.
• Ability to work as a team with floor and kitchen staff.
• Demonstrates courtesy and anticipation of guests' needs.
• Ability to work under pressure while multitasking.

Responsibilities

The Server provides prompt, courteous service of all beverages and food for guests. Interact with and serve guests food, beverages and wine in a professional and friendly manner, working as a team to ensure guest satisfaction.

• Stock side station with juices, tea, ice and waters.
• Set-up workstation tables with china, glass, silver, condiments, flowers and napkins.
• Greet guests, introduce menu or buffet layout and describe special items.
• Answer questions regarding style, presentation, quality and price of all food and beverages.
• Take the guests' food and drink orders.
• Open bottle and pour wine, refilling glasses for wine, water and other beverages as needed.
• Observe guests' progress and respond in a timely way to their needs.
• Strive to increase the guest check through suggestive sales techniques and alternatives.
• Prepare guest check, using Micros point of sale system, collect and process payment correctly.
• Maintain assigned table and station cleanliness, tidiness and order.
• Close side work by cleaning area, re-stocking supplies and refilling condiments.
• Prepare back kitchen, stock supplies, including bagels and muffins, make coffee and buff tables.
• Set-up and break down special events and buffets, to include moving furniture as necessary.
• Remove used dishes and maintain table during meal or buffet by replacing utensils as necessary and refolding napkins.
• Serve guests from buffet upon request.
• Transport food from kitchen to buffet table in restaurant, as needed.
• Ensure general housekeeping, including cleaning of fixtures, appliances, counters, dusting, and sweeping.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Possesses speed, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Courtesy and anticipation of guest’s needs are essential.
• Must be able to work as a team with entire floor staff and kitchen staff ensuring timely, efficient service.
• Ability to work in high pressure environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Food Safety and RBS certifications required.
