Job Description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth restaurant operation. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and maintain the highest standards of service and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:
    • Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Oversee food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service.
    • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies and food items.
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Staff Management:
    • Recruit, hire, and train new staff members.
    • Develop and implement staff training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Create and manage staff schedules to optimize labor costs and ensure adequate coverage.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
    • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly and professionally.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints.
    • Train staff on excellent customer service techniques and standards.
    • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
    • Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff.
  • Financial Management:
    • Assist in managing the restaurant's budget and controlling costs.
    • Monitor sales and revenue performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Conduct regular inventory and cost analysis to optimize profitability.
    • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial reports and paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and industry standards
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software systems
  • Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
