Job summary

Grafton Integrated Health Network is seeking an Assistant Residential Administrator to help lead residential programs for children and adolescents with IDD and mental health needs. You will supervise staff, ensure quality services, and support regulatory compliance while reporting to the Residential Administrator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or related field.
  • Three years of professional experience working with children in a residential, educational, behavioral health, or human services setting (at least one year in a residential facility for children).
  • One year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • OR HS/GED alternative: six years of professional experience with children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing assigned residential programs to ensure safe, person-centered services.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to residential managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Monitor daily operations and address staffing, scheduling, transport, and facility issues.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring program goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff engagement.
  • Review staffing patterns and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in licensing, accreditation, and quality audits.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies with leadership support.
  • Collaborate with clinical, educational, medical, and residential teams.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, assists the Residential Administrator in the management and operation of assigned residential programs. Work involves supporting the daily operational, administrative, and supervisory functions of the residential programs to ensure quality services, regulatory compliance, employee development, and effective program performance. The Assistant Residential Administrator serves as a member of the residential leadership team and provides leadership coverage in the absence of the Residential Administrator. Reportsto the Residential Administrator.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the Residential Administrator in the oversight and management of assigned residential programs to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered services.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to residential managers, supervisors, and other designated staff. Conduct and document regular supervision meetings and assist with performance management activities.
  • Monitor daily program operations and address operational issues related to staffing, client care, scheduling, transportation, facility concerns, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Review staffing patterns, overtime utilization, and workforce needs and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring program compliance with licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards. Participate in audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action planning.
  • Respond to incidents, crises, and emergency situations as needed. Provide leadership support and follow-up to ensure appropriate documentation and resolution.
  • Collaborate with clinical, educational, medical, and residential teams to ensure coordinated service delivery and achievement of treatment goals.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and resource utilization to ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
  • Conduct routine program reviews and quality assurance activities to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Serve as Administrator-on-Call as assigned and provide leadership coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
  • Act on behalf of the Residential Administrator during periods of absence or as delegated.

Additional Job Functions

  • Participate in family meetings and respond to family, guardian, and stakeholder concerns as appropriate.
  • Assist with marketing, admissions, and placement activities as assigned.
  • Represent Grafton at community meetings, professional organizations, and external events.
  • Support implementation of new programs, initiatives, and organizational projects.
  • Participate in organizational committees and workgroups.
  • Review professional literature and attend workshops, conferences, and training programs to maintain professional competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or related field;
  • Three years of professional experience working with children in a residential, educational, behavioral health, or human services setting ( at least one year must be in a residential facility for children).
  • One year of supervisory, lead, or demonstrated leadership experience preferred

OR

  • HS/GED alternative: six years of professional experience working with children in a residential, educational, behavioral health, or human services setting ( at least one year must be in a residential facility for children).

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and provide leadership support outside normal business hours when necessary.

COMPENSATION

  • $71,760.00 to $106,080.00 USD/year commensurate with experience and qualifications
