Job summary

Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. (IEI) seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team working with the Port Authority of NY/NJ at JFK Airport. You will coordinate with airport personnel, review submittals, and support construction management from planning through closeout.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, a track record of at least 10 years in related projects, and active PE license preferred. Night/weekend shifts may be required and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour safety certification required.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Ability to manage field staff and coordinate with airport stakeholders.
• Experience with construction documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with JFK Airport facilities, operations personnel and stakeholders to minimize impact on operations.
• Review submittals and forward for technical review.
• Prepare transmittal letters accepting or rejecting contractor submittals.
• Monitor schedules, change orders and weekly reports; propose cost-saving ideas.
• Supervise field staff ensuring proper installation and project documentation.
• Review project plans, specs and addenda and oversee field activities.
• Maintain progress of construction and communicate with the project contact.
• Review daily inspection reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Track T&M tickets and other records for documentation and accountability.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for extra work orders and changes.
