Job summary

Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. (IEI) New York Office is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team working with The Port Authority of NY/NJ at JFK Airport.

We are civil engineers delivering design, program management, construction engineering and inspection services. Join IEI to coordinate with airport personnel, review submittals, monitor schedules, and mentor field staff while maintaining safety and thorough documentation; a Civil Engineering degree and 10+ years of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or approved equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Active PE license preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification required.
• Proficiency with project coordination, reporting, and field oversight.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with JFK Airport Facility, operations personnel, and stakeholders to minimize impacts to airport operations.
• Review submittals and forward for technical review.
• Prepare transmittal letters for contractor submittals.
• Monitor schedules, change orders and weekly reports; identify cost-saving ideas.
• Supervise and mentor field staff; ensure accurate documentation of field activities.
• Review plans, specs and addenda; monitor ongoing field construction activities.
• Maintain logs and records; track time-and-material tickets and project records.
• Prepare cost estimates for Extra Work Orders and related costs.
• Assist in contractor payment applications and monthly progress reporting.
