Job summary

ARX USA is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support infrastructure projects across the United States. The ARE will assist with field oversight, contract administration, cost tracking, and change-order evaluation.

Collaboration with resident engineers, project managers, inspectors, designers, and client reps is essential. The ideal candidate combines hands-on construction experience with practical knowledge of quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years in construction management, field engineering, inspection, project engineering, or resident engineering.
• Ability to work primarily at active construction sites.
• Experience with heavy civil construction, water/wastewater infrastructure, underground utilities, tunneling or trenchless construction, transportation or transit projects, bridges/roads.

Responsibilities

• Construction Oversight: support daily field oversight, coordinate with contractors and inspectors, and assist in issue resolution.
• Contract Administration: review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and payment applications; maintain records.
• Estimating and Cost Control: prepare quantity takeoffs, assist with cost estimates, track project costs and budget status; support change orders.
