Job summary

GFT in New York, NY seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer to support construction management on multi-disciplinary public works projects. You will work under the Project Manager, providing technical support in both field and office settings, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include reading plans and SOPs, preparing daily reports, tracking payments and inspector activities, and using e-Builder/Procore/P6. Strong communication and FE/OSHA credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 1 year in a construction management office supporting a PM on a multi-disciplinary public works project.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification required.
• FE certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read SOPs, contract plans, specifications, and related project docs.
• Monitor, inspect and document field construction activities; prepare daily reports.
• Maintain daily Inspector’s Reports depository and track materials/time data.
• Track Special Inspector activities and payments for force account work.
• Use e-Builder, Procore and P6 for scheduling and documentation.
• Prepare meeting agendas and distribute records to stakeholders.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for Teams meetings.
• Assist in verifying monthly Applications for Payment and quantities.
• Assist in finalizing project closeout activities.
• Prepare internal progress reports including ETC and narratives.
