Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full Time Assistant Resident Engineer in Antioch, California to support the PMCM team across multiple locations in the Bay Area and Central Valley. You will oversee field staff, review contracts, and ensure project compliance on roadway/highway and transit projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of relevant experience, a engineering degree, and knowledge of Caltrans standards, with strong communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of directly relevant experience (Resident Engineer or related roles).
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Caltrans).
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of client construction specifications and contract management.
• Supervise, develop and train field staff and other project staff.
• Inspect work for compliance with project drawings and standards.
• Manage field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying and quality control on projects.
• Review project documentation for pay apps, change orders, submittals, and shop drawings.
